Mashable has published their top 15 social media sites for foodies, and while it covers the usual suspects it may be worth taking a look to make sure you know them all. This list is really just a small sample of all the food sites out there…  just thinking about it makes me hungry.

I’ve summarized their findings below, check out the article for more details.

1. Foodzie –  online marketplace for locally grown, handmade, and/or artisan foods (US-only)

2. Foodoro – competes with Foodzie (US-only)

3. Amazon’s Gourmet Food section (US-only)

4. Local Harvest –    find farmers’ markets, food cooperatives, etc.

5. Locavore iPhone App – iPhone app finds local farmers’ markets across the United States

6. AllRecipes –  over 40,000 recipes

7. Epicurious –  combining recipes and articles from Gourmet and Bon Appétit magazines

8. Rouxbe – Rouxbe is an online cooking school and video recipe library – a Vancouver export!

9. Foodista –  wiki-based food encyclopedia & a great blog

10. Nibbledish –  (formerly Open Source Food)  home to over 2,000 Creative Commons licensed recipes with photos.

11. Yelp – ratings and reviews of thousands of restaurants  all over the United States.

12. Urban Spoon – restaurant guide, social site, reviews & blogs. famous iphone app.

13. Chow – In addition to recipes and food blogs, Chow has a large directory of restaurants and bars in a handful of US cities.

14. The Ghetto Gourmet – Supper Clubs, covering mostly American cities.

15. FriendsEat – social network for foodies
