Montrealer Nadia Giosia has scored a deal with the Food Network, after a year of spectacular audience growth for her youtube-based cooking show, Bitchin’ Kitchen. Sporting quirky humour and numerous tattoos,  Nadia works her spunky appeal while drawing on her Italian roots to serve up simple, gourmet meals with a smirk. At first glance I had to wonder if she might be related to Glenn Beck. But you should see her wield a cleaver. She might be the only food host serving Anxiety stricken chicken soup to “soothe your shrivelled soul.” Or with “quickie segments” featuring a zany cast of equally camp characters. Honestly though,  I don’t know what to think. It is all a bit slapstick for me and light on cullinary content. I think I will stick with the venerable Mark Bittman, who puts food first and in my opinion is at least ten times funnier.
