Occupying a neo-gothic landmark in Chelsea, formerly an infamous club, the new Limelight marketplace is a striking mixed retail space in a converted church. In addition to some impressive food shops and a kitchen store, Limelight has at its very apex a Cacoa Bar from Marie Belle. A menu of light and delicious fare and a plethora of chocolate drinks, a huge display of brittle and fancy chocolates tempt. The chocolates have hand-transferred images on them, and boast complex flavors such as Saffron, Cinnamon, Dulce de Leche, Earl Grey Tea, Mango, and Lemon. The iced chocolate milk was divine on a hot day, and the hot chocolate is thick, dark and begging to be poured on pancakes (or your subject of choice). The Cacao Bar has a bird’s eye view of the Limelight and makes for an excellent refuge on a hot day. And I was able to pick up free wireless internet while enjoying free samples of everything.
