I reviewed L’Abattoir on opening night last year and have been back many times since for fine cocktails and cuisine. Featured are some iphone photos taken while trying out some new dishes last weekend. The pan fried lamb sweetbreads with veal tongue sauce gribiche ($14) was delicious (and I keep thinking about it). Pacific halibut was excellent, served with a warm vegetable salad and a mountain of decadent sauce maltaise, a variation of hollandaise with blood orange juice. ($26) Also pictured is a tempting new drink on the menu, the Meat Hook (and I’m hooked). I should disclose my bias, I live nearby and L’Abattoir has long been my favorite.
